Both wells will be used as air sparging/nutrient injection wells around the perimeter of a capped landfill. The wells were constructed of six-inch-diameter perforated, schedule 40 carbon steel pipe. Four-inch, SDR 11, slotted HDPE was then installed inside of the perforated steel liner. The formation consisted of fine sand with small amounts of gravel. One well was installed using a biodegradable drilling fluid and the other well was drilled utilizing bentonite/MMH along with the biodegradable drilling fluid.
